Offline Exam

If there is an internet failure during an online exam, candidates have the option to proceed with the exam in an offline mode. Once they complete the exam, they can synchronise their answers with the system by entering a recovery password at the end of the exam.



Navigate to the Assess App module and click on the Offline Exam option.


Hotkey - The Hotkey will be used to with the combination of (Alt+Shift+Hotkey) to perform offline action or offline exam recovery. It can be any Alphabet.

Recovery Password - Password entered by invigilators or admin to sync or download the recovery file from the candidate page.

Restore Password - Password entered by the invigilators to restore the recovery file of the candidates.

Expiry Duration - Expiry duration field represents how long the Sync or restore can be done.


Recovery is downloading the Candidate responses which the candidate has submitted in offline Exam. Restore is used in the Live Monitor option in the Delivery sub module to upload the Recovery file downloaded from the Candidate.


In candidate iExam page invigilator or admin need to press the hot key once the candidate has submitted the Exam. The password need to be entered. If the internet regains, the invigilator can click on sync responses, if not the Recovery file will be downloaded.

The Hotkeys can be customized, and clicking on Save the changes will be Saved.

Offline Exam Working Process

Once the Candidate completes the Exam in Offline mode, the Candidate's answer must be synced using the Offline Recovery Process.


The Invigilator must press the Hotkeys and enter the Password. 


After entering the password, the Invigilator will see a page with options to Sync Remaining Responses and Download Recovery File. The Invigilator must select the Download Recovery File.


The Invigilator must Download the Recovery file from the exam listed.


After downloading the file, the Invigilator must navigate to the Delivery sub-module and upload the file using the Restore Exam option in the Live Monitor.


The Invigilator must enter the Restore Password and the Recovery File will be uploaded for the Candidate.
